How to view hidden files in Mac

Normally some files are hidden in Mac. In some cases you may wish to see the hidden files in removable disks or hard disk. Then follow the below steps to hide or view your files in Mac.

 

To view hidden folders:

1. Open the Terminal.
2. At the command prompt, type.

   defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles true

3. Press return to execute the command.
4. For the changes to take effect, either log out then log back in again, or relaunch Finder.

NOTE:    

The command prompt code may vary from version to version.
